The National Runaway Switchboard's mission is to facilitate relationships that ensure youth and families have access to resources in their communities. Last year, NRS handled over 119,000 calls from youth and families.

Their nationwide 24-hour hotline (1-800-621-4000) provides crisis intervention, as well as information and referrals. They also provide conference calls to facilitate communication for youth and a message service between youth and their families. One of their most successful programs is done in partnership with Greyhound, the "Homefree" transportation service to help youth reunite with their families.
